Now Hear This has been providing music education for the last 6 years within schools, hospitals and youth centres. We offer vocal, guitar, keyboard, songwriting, bass tuition, and music production lessons and workshops. All individual lessons are prepared around what you want to learn and gain from your instrumental experience and are presented in a relaxed and inspiring way.
Vocal Tuition
Now Hear This has coached many session singers over the country as well as workshops for businesses, hospitals and schools. Singing is fantastic for building confidence and great for releasing stress.
Vocal coaching can be separated into:
• Individual lessons, all contemporary styles including Pop/Rock/Jazz/Punk/Soul/Gospel
• Group courses workshops
• Corporate training and consultancy workshops
The current courses running for the group and corporate training workshops are:
• Popular and contemporary Singing - a look at the range of popular singing styles including Rock, Pop, Gospel and Jazz
• The Basics of Singing - a look at ways in which singers can extend their range, develop breath control and increase tone quality and resonance
• Singing for Music Therapy - how to use the voice to relax the body from unwanted stress and anxiety

Song Writing & Composition Workshops and Lessons
The course will explore the processes involved in song writing while developing the student’s experiences of selecting and structuring material. Examples of well-known songs will be used as a basis for generating ideas for original compositions.
The course will cover:
• Listening and understanding music
• Lyrics - basic rhyming schemes
• Song structures - components of a song
• Fundamental harmony and theory
• Chord progressions for songs
• Narrative structures and telling a story
• Awareness of styles & arranging
There will also be an opportunity for students to record songs if they wish.
Music Production Workshops and Lessons
Students will have the opportunity to learn recording and mixing techniques while developing their own songs and compositions. The course will incorporate everything that is required to start recording songs.
Subjects that will be covered are:
• Electronic Programming
• Sound Recording & Mixing
• Understanding Midi and Sequencers
• Cubase VST programming
• Remixing and Sampling
• Mastering Techniques
At the end of the course the student will be able to take home a finished CD master of their song that they have been working on during the course.
